Computer Methods International Corp. (CMiC) is a Software Development firm specializing in enterprise financial and cost management systems designed for the Construction and Engineering industries.
About the Role
We are looking for a Systems Administrator and Support Engineer who thrives at the intersection of end-user support and cloud infrastructure. In this hybrid role, you will be the go-to problem solver for our team, keeping desktops running smoothly, cloud platforms secure, and users productive. If you enjoy variety in your day, take pride in clean documentation, and get genuine satisfaction from making technology work well for people, we would love to hear from you.
This is a hands-on position with real ownership. You will work on everything from a stuck laptop on someone’s desk to identity policies in Entra ID, and you will have the freedom to suggest improvements as you spot them.
Important Information:
Responsibilities
Desktop and End User Support (around 60 per cent)
You will be the first line of defence for technical issues across the company. That means diagnosing hardware faults, software glitches, and the occasional “it was working yesterday” mystery. Day to day, you will:
Systems Administration and Cloud Support (around 40 per cent)
When you are not directly supporting users, you will be strengthening the systems behind the scenes:
Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure for uptime, performance, and security.
Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune, including policies, configurations, and lifecycle management.
Apply system updates, patches, and backup routines on a regular cadence.
Support identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, conditional access, and compliance configurations.
Partner with the security team on endpoint protection, including Microsoft Defender and EDR tooling.
Investigate and respond to alerts from security and monitoring platforms.
Write and maintain clear documentation for procedures, runbooks, and IT policies so the next person, or future you, is not starting from scratch.
5 or more years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a closely related role.
Comfortable working across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune, including managing user lifecycles, group policies, and access controls.
Solid grasp of core networking, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, VLANs, and how the pieces fit together.
Strong troubleshooting instincts across hardware, software, and cloud environments.
Familiarity with endpoint security concepts such as Microsoft Defender, EDR, and SIEM.
Clear communicator in writing and in conversation, able to explain a technical issue to a finance leader and a developer with equal clarity.
Nice to Have
How You Work
You stay calm under pressure and genuinely enjoy helping people, even on their worst tech day. You document as you go because you have been on the receiving end of bad documentation. You balance independent deep work with collaborative team projects. You notice patterns and suggest fixes rather than solving the same problem over and over. You are curious about new technology and eager to grow your skills.
What We Offer
How to Apply
If this sounds like the kind of role you have been waiting for, we would love to hear from you. Tell us about a problem you solved recently that you are proud of, and what you would want to tackle in your first few months on the job.
